The Poetic of Space / Inspiration

The interior design is a specialty that studies the space which men inhabits its functionality, uses and beauty in order to transmit to the user sensations and experiences. Its purpose is to take strong concepts and turn them into spaces to evoke the language of the initial idea and preserve the spirit of the place disregarding the changes. The architect has the ability to read the space and the user as whole entity, given the capacity to imprint its personality, character and significance.

"JE SUIS L'ESPACE OU JE SUIS"

According to Gaston Bachelard, in his book The Poetics of Space,

"Consciousness of being at peace in one's corner produces a sense of immobility, and this, in turn, radiates immobility. An imaginary room rises up around our bodies, which think that they are well hidden when we take refuge in a corner. Already, the shadows are walls, a piece of furniture constitutes a barrier, hangings are a roof.

But all of these images are over-imagined. So we have to designate the space of our immobility by making it the space of our being. In L'etat d'ebauche, l Noel Arnaud writes:

Je suis l'espace OU je suis (I am the space where I am.) This is a great line. But nowhere can it be better appreciated than in a corner ̈.

The interior, a corner, a shelter, everything speaks and tells stories, images and fragments of the human being. Spaces tell history as they have the ability to collect the user personality and life experiences. The interior is the ultimate expression of the reciprocity between the habitat and user.

FUNCTIONAL REALITY

The interior design is the reflection of the creative process of bringing to life the most suitable experience for the user, giving the possibility to become one with the space.

The functionality of spaces has been my prevalent question since I was very young.

Why the interior of a closet is arranged in certain way and not another?.
Why the kitchen of my neighbors is not equal to mine?.
